Bay Ridge bike share celebration ride!

RSVP strongly requested: We’ll have a few two-hour passes available for this ride. If there are more riders than passes, first dibs will go to anyone that has RSVP’d in advance.
Celebrating the arrival of Citi Bikes by riding Citi Bikes!
It took years for bike share to finally get to Bay Ridge, but it’s finally getting done! The first new dock dropped in early September, with nearly fifty more to be installed throughout September and October.
Meet up at: the soon-to-drop Citi Bike dock at 86th Street and Shore Road, and then we’ll ride Citi Bikes on a short tour of Bay Ridge along…
- Colonial Road
- the Leif Ericson Greenway
- the 7th Avenue protected bike lane
- the Third and Fifth Avenue commercial districts…
…before finally stopping for treats.
We ride light rain or shine! In the event of more adverse weather, we may reschedule this to Sunday, October 26.
Challenge rating: medium-easy.
- Overall trip distance: about 5 miles total
- Distance on greenway / protected bike lanes: 1¾ miles total
- Distance on painted bike lanes: 3 miles total
- Distance on roads with no bike lanes: 1¼ miles total
