RAIN DATE: Marine Park to Red Hook bike ride

Casual social bike ride from Marine Park to Red Hook, along the waterfront with pickups in Bath Beach and Bay Ridge.
We’re riding bikes to Red Hook! (update: and we’re activating our rain date plan)
- We’re starting at 10am in Marine Park on the oval side of the Carmine Carro Community Center
- We will pick up riders in Bath Beach (end of Bay Parkway) and Bay Ridge (pier at the end of Bay Ridge Parkway)
- We will ride through Bush Terminal Piers Park and on the new Third+Hamilton Avenue bike path into Red Hook
- We’ll generally head towards the Valentino pier and Strong Rope Brewery (Steve’e Key Lime Pie is in between, Hometown Bar-B-Que is nearby, Strong Rope allows outside food)
Bring a bike lock and water!
The rain date is Sunday, June 28.
Detailed itinerary:
- 10am: meet by the Carro community center
- 10:15am: roll-out
- 11:00am (approximate): pick-up in Bath Beach
- 11:30am (approximate): pick up in Bay Ridge
- 12:15pm (approximate): arrival in Red Hook
Distance: 16 miles one way (return to Marine Park ~10 miles)
Challenge description: relatively flat, riding with car traffic in Sheepshead Bay, Brighton + Coney, Sunset Park, and Red Hook. Some railroad crossing that need careful/perpendicular approach, some rough pavement or cobblestones in Sunset Park and Red Hook.
