South Brooklyn to Summer Streets bike ride

We’re riding bikes to Summer Streets… 20 miles from Bay Ridge to Inwood. Join us!
Bike to Summer Streets!
Distance: about 20 miles, including 15 car-free summer streets along Park Avenue (to 110th Street) and Broadway, and around two miles of greenways in Brooklyn. Two to three miles will be on trash roads in Brooklyn.
Pace: casual — around 10mph, a little faster on greenways and Summer Streets, slower on Brooklyn streets
Somewhat hilly terrain, particularly on the Upper East Side on Park Avenue and Uptown on Broadway
Where to start: Bay Ridge, 69th Street pier, at 11am (roll-out at 11:15am)
Bring: water, sunscreen, snacks, and a bike lock (if you want to dwell someplace)
Getting home: the group ride will end in Inwood. Return options include:
- MTA subway (A or 1, depending on that weekend’s service)
- Biking back via the West Side or Harlem River Greenways
- Optional connections to NYC Ferry at either West 39th Street (single-seat, three-stop ride to Bay Ridge pier) or East 90th Street (single-seat, four-stop ride to Brooklyn Army Terminal) or
This ride will be light-rain-or-shine — in the event of heavier rain (or air-quality rudeness), this ride won’t be rescheduled
